A few years ago the girls earned their Bronze Award. Photos from that project can be seen on our website.  Now the girls are working towards their Silver Award.  They have been working hard for the past two years to earn all the required badge work, leadership time, etc.  This year they are finally ready to attack the actual Community Service Project.  They have decided to help other girls for their project.  So they will be collecting slightly used party/fancy dresses, dress shoes, slips, and handbags.  Then in March of this year they will be hosting a special "free shopping" day at a boutique they are designing and setting up at our council.  Girl from within scouts as well as outside of scouting can come and pick out a special dress that they might otherwise not be able to afford.  The girls have been working hard to make this project a success! Some girls have taken the Dress Drive right into their middle schools for support.  They have been adveritising in local newspapers, emails and calling friends and family, and reaching out to other troops throughout our council. There is still a lot of work to do! Check back for updates and photos of the big event!
